Several years ago while talking with God, TJ got a vision that he would some day start a ministry that brought troubled youth together with horses to teach them about the cowboy way and more importantly about our Lord and Savior. It wouldn't be anything heavy duty. Yet by his actions and by the beauty of the surroundings, the kids would have fellowship with God. He imagined assigning each horse to a kid and letting them have responsibility for that horse the whole time they were there. At night, everyone would sit around the campfire having a fellowship. TJ is an awesome campfire cook and an equally good bar-b-que'r. He imagined putting his talents to work while working with the kids. At the time, he wasn't in a place where it looked like this might happen.....so he waited.
Kristy had a vision early on that she would have a place that would bring kids together with horses undergoing rehabilitation. She had been involved with horse rescue and a hippotherapy program, and had seen firsthand the gratefulness a horse shows when they were rescued and were allowed to live out their lives. She thought it would be good for troubled kids to see God's power of healing when life was given back to these animals. Kristy lived on a small farm and had her own horses, but just couldn't seem to find the right way to see her vision through....so she waited.
Enter God!!
TJ and Kristy met on the internet in July, 2004. Neither of them was in the market to find their life partner. However, God had other plans. When they realized they shared similar visions, everything just fell into place. When they married, they made sure God was at the center of their wedding, and consequently at the center of their marriage. This attitude is evident in their actions within the ministry. They provide a caring and structured environment at "the ranch" for the kids that come for a visit.
